today was a perfect day for doing nothing. and that is what i did.

there was little knitting done and what was done had to be ripped out because i had started on the wrong needle...sigh..

after doing that, i needed a nap. after that a friend came over and we went out exploring the grounds for the rest of the afternoon.

for eats we had chilled cucumber bisque soup. it was ok, not on the do again list unless i tinker with it.

i wrapped up all of my items for Ceciley's swap kit. Thanks Minee for giving me such a great box to reuse. Still no wine in there...;(

my duel socks are on flickr and on ravelry that Lily made for me. they are pretty and a lovely shade of garnet

aaaaahhh...catchup

Really,it has been too long since I have chattered about everything that is going here in dormland.

I blame it on homework overload and dueling. Dueling has taken over my world and I have lost this round to Lily. To add to the frustration of losing, I ran out of yarn for the toe and had to use a matching shade of blue to finish. &*&%^*$%

I have also been busy getting my kit ready for Ceciley which I think is ready to go. I am going to have to triple check it because I am that way.

Chrysta and I have been stinking up the dorm again. Yesterday, I made two different colours and I hope the one that I made looks better caked than what it does as a skein. I am my worst enemy sometimes.

I hear Chrysta coming in and I am going to talk her into getting some coffee with me.

Honeydukes SweetshopMadam Puddifoot'sScrivenshaft's Quill ShopThese are the places that I will be visiting during my trip.I am in need of chocolate, more tea since we seem to drink quite a lot of it. Plus, due to all of the writing that I have been doing, a new quill.Perhaps they will have a Redtail Hawk quill. If not that, then Blue Heron quill. I love those birds.

As, I noted before going to town, these were the places that I wanted to visit. I did and I bought everything that I wanted and needed. It was hard to choose between the two quills but I bought the Redtail Hawk quill instead of the Blue Heron quill. It just felt better in the hand when I was test writing.

Chrysta wanted to get her hair trimmed while we were there but something spooked her and she left even before sitting in the chair. Rather odd, but then again maybe not.

I have not felt like writing much these past few days so I will make up for it next week.

slow soggy friday morning

It was pleasant to spend the first part of the morning chatting away while drinking coffee and sharing tips and tricks on dyeing and weather and life.

I really enjoyed the impromptu get together. As of now though, our dorms smells a bit musty since a bunch of us had the urge to play with potions. I had to open a window to let the breeze in a clear the funk even the orderbegone charm is not working.

Emma D. has disappeared once again and I do not know about Chryta but I feel a bit bad that we keep stinking her out.

I hope everyone shows what they created today.

The stress of dueling wars is not a good thing. The panic to finish has never been greater and a feeling that I am not use to. More or less I amble through my days doing what I like at a pace I like. Knitting as if my life depended on it and it does is not how I like to knit.

Tonight, since I am done with them, I have a ton of things I need to catch up on. But, I feel defiant and I am going to do some Potion work. I wonder if I can get Minee to come over and play with me.

I should post the pictures of G'sBlackEye yarn that I made for her. It is lacking in purple but the colour is close to what it looked like last week.

This week has been one that has had its ups and downs.
All of my homework was done which was good. I did not get to do the Claws gone-wild when Wisteria was away. I was called away on a family matter. How convenient.;)

Saturday I was not able to play Quidditch with the team because I was outside working the gate and that is an all day job. You have to make sure everyone has their membership card, and if they do not then they have to fill out waiver forms..(you would not believe the excuses people come up with for not having theirs). If you do not have your card you have to pay the $3.00 nonmember charge. PERIOD. I do not care who you are or your title. Needless to say, I did not make any friends Saturday.

After gate was close it was time to count the money and to an official head count. Rule #2: make sure the person you have counting the money after you can count past three (3).

I did not make it back to the dorm until 4pm and then I needed a short nap. Evening meal was at 6 that lasted until 10 due to our celebration of doing so dang great.

Saturday was a non-knitting day and I am behind in dueling...grr...
So, off I go to do more knitting. wish me luck ladies and Stuart
